Education Qualification
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science/ Marine Biology/ Zoology. Preference will be given for Fisheries graduates. In addition, knowledge in Information Technology (IT) shall be given preference.
He/ She will be preferably a local person from the concerned fishing village/ revenue village of the concerned Taluk. If no eligible candidates are available in the concerned fishing/ revenue village, eligible candidates from neighboring village/ revenue village within the concerned Taluk will be considered
Age Limit
Age, not more than 35 years (as of 01.07.2021), who has effective communication skills in Tamil.

Salary
The Sagar Mitra will be provided with a performance incentive of Rs.10,000/- per month against a set of predetermined tasks. Additional performance incentives up to Rs.5,000/- in a month will be given to Sagar Mitra against additional tasks if entrusted from time to time.
